A tip we've heard about is to be sure you let vintage bowling balls warm up to room temperature if you live in a cold climate to lessen the potential of them cracking on the first throw of the night down the alley. In case you are considering snagging it for your bowling league night as a nod to the past, first of all, we think that would be really cool, and second of all, we think it would work fine. I say EVERYONE needs a bowling ball collection displayed prominently in whatever area the rest of the household will allow it! Or at least won't trip over it. Giant, marvelous marbles, really, is all they are. In good vintage condition with multiple scars & scratches from what has apparently been a very adventurous and quite long bowling alley life! Note there is one small gouge above "Schultz" as you can see in the photo, but no apparent cracks, perfect either for your bowling league night or upcycled into a perfect piece of yard or kitschy home living art. Schultz means to you! What wonderful kitschy cool fun for your bowling league night. When you make it yours, YOU get to decide who and what John J. Jonathan, your ex-lover, known to everyone else as "John," but to you, he'll always be dear Jonathan Schultz, the crotchety neighbor who seemed to have balls to match the size of his beloved bowling ball so was avoided by all the other kids, but he always had a soft spot for you Uncle John, the "colorful" war hero who willed you his bowling gear AND all his money on the condition that you bowl once a week for the rest of your life I can see many different angles being quite interesting to explore. Super unique and retro cool! IF your name doesn't just "happen" to be John's (and wouldn't that be a coincidence if it was!), when you make this awesome "ACE" bowling ball yours, perhaps you'd like to invent a fabulous yarn about who said John meant to you in your past life. Never seen a vintage bowling ball with a FULL name on it! And in cursive at that. Schultz," along with that fabulous Ace of Spades logo, weighing approximately 15 pounds, 13 ounces. What a beaut.OK, we admit it, we think ALL vintage bowling balls rock (and roll - haha, get it?)! But just look at this awesome ACE Bowling Ball in a classic retro shade of Matte Black, engraved in awesome (and rare!) cursive with the full name, "John J. ~~ For fun, see last photo for a 1958 ad featuring this ball (not included)!~~
